Journalists Report on Suspected USA Swimming Coaching Sexual Abuse Cover Up
Journalist Tim Joyce of WBAL Radio reported that USA Swimming, even after its self-lauded attempts to purge pedophile coaches through the Safe Sport program, continues to divert, delay, and obfuscate investigators. According to Joyce's story, the “investigations” USA Swimming has conducted into the behavior of its coaches are hardly comprehensive.
Joyce, in another article, questions whether USA Swimming is engaging in calculated decisions aimed at minimizing damage to its image.
Reporter Irv Muchnick also questions the motives behind USA Swimming's handling of the Rick Curl allegations. Muchnick argues that Rick Curl case demonstrates that the problem of sex abuse in USA Swimming is truly greater than that at Penn State.
